(GSM) – Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger admits he was unhappy with the boos Emmanuel Adebayor received in the Gunners’ Premier League clash against Manchester City.
Adebayor, a former Arsenal player himself, returned to the Emirates Stadium with City in a match which ended in a 0-0 draw.
Former Arsenal stars Kolo Toure and Patrick Vieira were welcomed with warm receptions from the Arsenal supporters while Adebayor was greeted with boos. However, Wenger expressed his sadness at the lack of respect shown towards at Adebayor.
Wenger said, “What can I do about that?
“I said before the game that I want everybody to be respected so you know clearly what I think.
“It (Adebayor’s entrance) made it a bit livelier because our supporters suddenly got lively.
“He (Adebayor) was focused and motivated and sharp and he won some longer balls and that’s why suddenly it was a bit livelier.
