After constant rumours surrounding a possible move that would see Arsenal striker Emmanuel Adebayor move to Serie A side AC Milan, Arsene Wenger has reportedly warned off the Italian giants, according to The Sun, by sending a fax through to the Milan head office.
In what could easily be a hoax, a senior official at the San Siro told The Sun: “It was quite bizarre. A fax arrived signed by Wenger in which he warned us against any bid for Adebayor.
“It went on to say that the player ‘is not for sale – not for money or gold’.”
Adebayor’s much speculated move to Milan as been one of the most talked about transfer moves this summer, despite the Togolese international stating that he is happy at the Emirates Stadium.
Adebayor previously told the press: “My future with Arsenal has never been in doubt and I want to assure fans I will be here for many years.
“My agent has met with coach Arsene Wenger about a new deal and I am happy about how the talks are going so fans can rest assured.â€Â
It seems more unlikely that Adebayor will leave this summer with the striker declaring his loyalty to the Emirates Stadium, and with Arsenal not wanting to sell, who’s to say that maybe Mr. Wenger decided to send a fax off to the San Siro after all?
