Arsene Wenger believes the future of Jack Wilshere lies with Arsenal, according to Sky Sports.
The England international’s contract runs out this summer, and the Gunners’ departing manager thinks a new deal will eventually be struck. He has often expressed his own wish, as well as the club’s, for Wilshere to stay. Even though he’s not involved in the club-player negotiations anymore, the Frenchman says he’s still in touch with Wilshere and he’s ready to offer him his advice, should the player ask for it.
Coupled with his contract expiring soon, his fine form this season has triggered a lot of reports linking the versatile midfielder with several clubs, despite his career being significantly hampered with injuries.
From the latest talk he’s had with Wilshere, Wenger has gathered that things are looking up regarding a new deal, and he thinks it will happen and Wilshere will stay put.
The 68-year-old also expressed his opinion that the squad lacks only two or three additions in order to challenge for the Premier League title again.
