German media outlet Bild has learned that Werder Bremen are exploring the possibility of signing Peruvian striker Claudio Pizarro.
The Weserstadion outfit are short of options up front after selling Franco Di Santo to Schalke and they desperately lack some experience in attack.
Therefore, it is not that surprising that Werder officials are showing interest in former player Claudio Pizarro at the moment.
Seeing as the Peru international is a free agent after his contract at Bayern Munich expired, there are no obstacles to him signing for the club outside of the summer transfer window.
And while Werder officials are keen on luring the 36-year-old back to the club, there are some financial constraints that could prove to be a problem.
Nevertheless, in spite of the difficult financial situation, the Weserstadion outfit hope one of their sponsors will agree to cover Pizarro’s wage, which should result in the striker returning to the club where he bagged impressive 60 goals in 103 Bundesliga appearances.
