Werder have made an official offer for Juventus winger Eljero Elia, according to Bild.
The Dutch international joined the Bianconeri in a €9 million move from Hamburger SV last summer, but the fact he was signed before coach Antonio Conte arrived to the club proved to be a major issue.
The new boss didn’t rate the player highly and the 25-year-old only made 4 Serie A appearances last season.
The player is now desperately looking for a new club and Bild claims Werder Bremen could come to the rescue.
According to the German newspaper, the Weserstadion outfit have already made a €7.5 million bid for the player’s services.
Juventus are likely to jump at the opportunity to cash in on the fringe player and the transfer is expected to be wrapped up shortly.
Elia enjoyed two very successful seasons in Bundesliga before joining Juventus and Werder boss Thomas Schaaf believes he can help the player kick-start his career.
