Werder Bremen may have no choice but to sell star striker Franco Di Santo next summer, according to Bild.
Everybody at the club has been impressed with the impact the Argentine has made since joining from Wigan Athletic, but his long-term future at Weserstadion is in doubt.
Namely, Di Santo’s current deal is due to expire in June 2016, and while Werder officials hope to persuade the 25-year-old into extending his stay, they are aware that his sale would seriously improve the precarious financial situation.
Having signed the striker on a free transfer less than two years ago, the club from Bremen are in a position to get at least €10 million for their star footballer, and they are expected to consider any offer that arrives for his services.
After scoring just 4 league goals during his first season at the club, Di Santo has seriously improved his record, having notched 12 goals in 17 Bundesliga matches this term.
