Chelsea’s Timo Werner will reassess his options for the future if he fails to break into the regular starting lineup under Thomas Tuchel, according to The Telegraph.
The forward arrived to Stamford Bridge from RB Leipzig in the summer of 2020 for a reported fee of €53 million, after several months of heavy speculation linking him with Liverpool. Since then, he’s gone on to score 13 goals and produce 16 assists in 59 matches in all competitions for the London Blues.
The 25-year-old’s place in the team became very doubtful following the €115m arrival of Romelu Lukaku this summer. Werner started only two of the six Premier League matches Chelsea have played so far this season, and it seems he’s grown frustrated with the current situation.
Borussia Dortmund are said to be considering a move for Werner at the end of the season as a replacement for Erling Haaland, should the Norwegian sensation leave the Signal Iduna Park.
