Galatasaray star Wesley Sneijder has moved to confirm that he is owed money by the club, but is prepared to wait for a solution.
Dutch newspaper De Telegraaf claims that the player is owed wages for over three months, which means that he can leave the club on a free transfer under FIFA rules.
When asked about the situation, Sneijder has confessed that he has not been paid in full, with his representatives currently in talks with the Turkish side.
“It’s true that I did not get the money,” the midfielder told reporters while on international duty.
“Galatasaray is working to bring the finances in order. My management is trying to find a solution with the club.”
Despite being a key player in the side, Sneijder is owed almost €1 million in unpaid wages and with top European clubs casting admiring glances, Galatasaray need to get this sorted as quickly as possible if they want to keep hold of their star footballer.
The 30-year-old is currently with the Netherlands squad preparing for the Euro 2016 qualifier against Kazakhstan, where Oranje are 1/16 favourites for the win.
