Mikey Johnston’s first-half brace was enough to seal a 2-0 home victory for West Brom over Bristol City.
After a rather drab opening half an hour, the game sprung into life as Johnston headed home from a Tom Fellows cross down the right.
He then doubled his and West Brom’s advantage nine minutes later with a sumptuous right-footed curling shot past a helpless Max O’Leary.
The Republic of Ireland international missed two good chances to complete a hat-trick after the break, while Josh Maja also went close to adding further gloss to the scoreline in a dominant Baggies win.
Carlos Corberan’s side moved up to seventh in the Championship, level on points with sixth-placed Middlesbrough, while Bristol City – without a win in four matches – are in 12th, seven points from the play-off positions.

Data Debrief: Baggies’ scoring run continues
Fellows has performed impressively for West Brom this season and grabbed another assist, bringing his tally up to eight for the season – no player in the Championship has more.
Meanwhile, Johnston could not have found his goalscoring touch at a better time. He had not scored since April for the Baggies, but netted two in nine minutes to secure the win on Sunday.
West Brom have recovered from a slump in form to win two of their last three matches, while their five-match scoring run (eight goals) in the league is their joint-longest throughout the season so far.
