Premier League strugglers West Bromwich are set to complete a deal for Malaga midfielder Ignacio Camacho, according to Cadena COPE.
The Baggies have met the player’s €18 million release clause and are set to make the Spaniard their club record signing.
West Brom scouts have closely monitored the player’s performances over the last year or so, and they ultimately decided he was good enough to succeed in English Premier League.
Camacho will not be the only high-profile signing to arrive at the Hawthorns this week as the club are close to agreeing a deal for Tottenham Hotspur winger Nacer Chadli.
The Baggies have been short of quality options in the middle of the park and there are no doubts that their new signings will seriously improve the squad.
Ignacio Camacho, 26, is the product of the Atletico Madrid youth academy, but it was at Malaga that he made a name for himself, scoring 12 goals in 144 La Liga matches.
