Former Newcastle manager Chris Hughton is in line to take over the reigns at West Bromwich, according to Daily Mail.
The Baggies chiefs wanted Roy Hodgson to replace Roberto Di Matteo, but former Liverpool boss declined the offer, as he believed the timing was not right for him to return to coaching.
Long-serving coach Michael Appleton will be in charge of the team in the relegation six-pointer against West Ham on Saturday, but the Baggies could have a new boss in place before next week’s game with Wolves.
West Brom have reportedly lined up Chris Hughton for the managerial job as they believe the Irishman can save the Baggies from relegation following his success at Newcastle.
Michael Appleton is expected to remain at the club, probably as Hughton’s assistant manager as he is highly regarded at the Hawthorns.
