West Brom face battle for Ba

West Bromwich Albion face a tough battle in their pursuit of former Chelsea striker Demba Ba, according to the Daily Star.

The 30 year old is currently plying his trade in Turkey with Besiktas, for whom he made forty-four appearances in all competitions last season, scoring twenty-seven goals.

Chinese Super League side Shanghai Shenhua have tabled a £10m offer for the Senegal international, meaning that the Baggies will need to rival that with a bid as worthy for the player, who is keen to return to England.

Ba spent eighteen months with Chelsea, and has also played for West Ham United and Newcastle United in the Premier League while he has four goals in nineteen appearances for his country.

West Brom finished in thirteenth place last season, and begin the forthcoming campaign with a visit from Manchester City and the home win can be backed at a price of 5/1.
