West Brom in for Rodriguez

West Bromwich Albion are attempting to negotiate a deal for Southampton forward Jay Rodriguez, according to the Telegraph.

The one time England international has been told he can leave St Mary’s this summer with an initial fee of £12m likely to enough to secure his services.

Rodriguez has struggled to hold down a regular starting spot with the south coast club since returning from a career threatening injury that kept him out for the entirety of the 2014/15 campaign.

He featured in more than half of the Saints’ league games last year but only nine of his twenty-four outings came as a start.

In total he has made one hundred and twenty-six appearances in all competitions since leaving Burnley in the summer of 2012, scoring thirty-five goals.

His one and only cap for his country so far came in a 2-0 friendly defeat to Chile at Wembley back in November 2013.
