Portuguese newspaper A Bola has learned that West Bromwich have stepped up their efforts to sign Adrien Silva from Sporting CP.
The highly rated footballer has been heavily linked with a Premiership switch, with Spurs, Everton and Watford some of his suitors.
However, it would appear as though West Bromwich have emerged as frontrunners for his signature, having submitted a €26 million proposal.
The Baggies manager Tony Pulis is keen to add Adrien Silva to his ranks but it remains to be seen whether the two clubs can find an agreement.
West Bromwich also need to agree personal terms with the 28-year-old, who demands a €2.25 million yearly salary, whereas the Premier League side are offering €1.9 million per campaign.
Adrien Silva has been an important player for both club and country for quite some time, making four appearances for Portugal on the road to the Euro 2016 trophy.
