West Bromwich Albion have confirmed the signing of Kyle Bartley from Swansea City. The 27-year-old has signed a three-year deal with the Baggies as they attempt to bounce back up to the Premier League at the first attempt, following a disappointing season in the top flight last year which saw them finish bottom of the table. Now, however, they seem to be getting their priorities straight ahead of what is sure to be a gruelling 46-game campaign – which kicks off in just a few short weeks.
For the Swans, this could be seen as a big blow, given that they were also relegated from the PL last season. Bartley spent six years in total with the Welsh club, during which time he made around three dozen appearances, so perhaps Swansea may not need him as much as Bartley needs first-team football.
As these two teams battle it out for promotion, though, it’ll be interesting to see how well Bartley fares.
