Jonny Evans is a man in demand amongst many of the Premier League’s top clubs, but Arsenal seem to be the team most likely to land the defender. West Brom however, the club at which Evans currently plies his trade, will require that Calum Chambers be part of any deal struck between the two clubs, according to the Birmingham Mail.
The Northern Irish international was an important figure at Manchester United for seven seasons, winning three Premier League titles at Old Trafford. He made the switch to West Brom in 2015, and has been linked with a return to a conventional top club ever since.
Arsenal seem keen on the defender, which is unsurprising given that they have the worst defensive record in the top seven, but will have to give up Calum Chambers in order to secure Evans’ services.
Chambers has never quite managed to secure consistent game time under Arsene Wenger, and has appeared just three times in the Premier League so far this season, so it would be a beneficial deal for the Gunners.
