West Bromwich Albion are interested in signing Omar Colley from Sampdoria in the summer transfer window, according to SampNews24. The Baggies, though, will face stiff competition to secure the services of the 27-year-old defender, with West Ham United, Celtic, Newcastle United, Southampton and Burnley all having their eyes on him.
Colley has been on the books of Sampdoria since 2018 and has established himself as an important player in the team. According to WhoScored, the Gambia international defender made 30 starts and one substitute appearance in Serie A last season, while during the 2018-19, he played 21 times in the Italian top flight.
West Brom will play in the Premier League this season after winning automatic promotion from the Championship at the end of the 2019-20 campaign. Slaven Bilic’s side have already made the loan deals of Matheus Pereira and Grady Diangana from Sporting Lisbon and West Ham United respectively permanent, while David Button has joined from Brighton and Hove Albion and Cedric Kipre has switched from Wigan Athletic.
