West Bromwich Albion are interested in signing Ollie Watkins from Brentford in the summer transfer window, according to Sky Sports. Aston Villa reportedly want 24-year-old attacker as well, and so do Crystal Palace.
Brentford, who lost to Fulham in the Championship playoff final this past season, value Watkins at more than £25 million, with the player – who can operate as a forward or as an attacking midfielder – himself keen on joining Villa and working with his former Bees manager Dean Smith, according to the report. West Brom will play in the Premier League next season after winning automatic promotion from the second tier of English football.
Watkins is one of the best players in the Championship and is a key figure in the current Brentford team. The Englishman scored 25 goals and provided three assists in 49 league games for the Bees in 2019-20, while in 2018-19, he scored 10 goals and provided six assists in the league.
