Competition: Premier League
Market: West Ham to finish in the top-10
Odds: 19/10 @ Betfair
Following the arrival of Teddy Sheringham to work with West Ham as an attacking coach, and the club having laid down plans for the 2014/15 season, a top-half finish is on the agenda. West Ham finished the 2013/14 campaign in 13th place with just 40 points. The season previous they ended up in 10th with 46 points, so the club have remained around mid-table since their promotion from the Championship in 2012.
Manager Sam Allardyce has been given seasonal objectives to meet for this season, and one of them is to push for a top-half finish. As a result, Betfair are giving odds of 19/10 for the Londoners to end the 2014/15 season in the top-10.
With the arrival of a new striker in Mauro Zarate, West Ham are hoping to evolve a new style of football this season to ensure they’re easy on the eye to watch for the supporters.
A top-10 finish and attractive style of play could be what keeps Allardyce in a job, so he’ll be fighting as hard as he can to ensure it comes to fruition.
