West Ham and Newcastle eye Daniil Fomin

West Ham United are interested in signing Daniil Fomin from Dynamo Moscow in the January transfer window, according to Sport Express. The report has added that West Ham’s Premier League rivals Newcastle are also looking to snap up the 24-year-old Russia international defensive midfielder this month.

Fomin has been on the books of Dynamo since 2020 when he joined from Ufa. The 24-year-old has made 17 appearances in the Russian Premier League so far this season, scoring six goals and providing two assists in the process.

West Ham are fourth in the Premier League table at the moment with 37 points from 21 matches and are also playing in the Europa League. Meanwhile, Newcastle currently find themselves second from bottom in the league table with 11 points from 19 matches, two points behind 18th-placed Watford.
