West Ham are the latest club to have joined the chase for Heerenveen striker Alfred Finnbogason, according to Daily Express.
Newcastle were the first high-profile side to express their interest in the 24-year-old football, but it appears the Hammers are looking to snatch the player from under their rivals’ noses.
West Ham scouts had the striker watched in weekend’s 3-2 defeat to Vitesse, which is enough to suggest the Boleyn Ground outfit are seriously considering a January move.
Finnbogason has been scoring goals for fun throughout his career, but he is clearly enjoying the best season of his life at Heerenveen.
After bagging 24 goals in 33 matches last season, the Iceland international has already netted 11 times in just 8 league fixtures this term.
Finnbogason hasn’t been quite as impressive on international level, managing just 2 goals in 8 2014 World Cup qualifiers, although he did help Iceland reach the play offs.
