A report from the Daily Mail today suggests that Nicholas Anelka could be set to leave Chinese club Shanghai Shenhua.
It seems as though the Frenchman wants to cancel his current contract with the club as he is not happy in China and he could even be on the way back to the English Premier League as soon as the January transfer window.
It is even being reported that the 33-year-old is willing to lose out on £7 million, which is what he would get in the final year of his contract, if Shenhua let him go on a free transfer.
This seems to have caught the attention of two Premier League clubs – West Ham United and Queens Park Rangers.
Harry Redknapp is of course the man in charge at QPR and he may feel as though Anelka’s fire-power up-front could really help his men claw their way to safety.
However, he might be concerned about bringing in more new faces as the players took a long time to gel this season.
West Ham boss Sam Allardyce has of course worked with Anelka in the past at Bolton Wanderers and he saw the very best of the former France international, so could look to bring him to Upton Park.
