West Ham manager Avram Grant has admitted he would be keen to bring in Irish striker Robbie Keane before Tuesday’s transfer deadline.
Keane has been linked with a move away from Tottenham all summer and the Hammers are looking to strengthen their squad.
“The club has big, big debts but he’s a player I would like to get,” said the Israeli coach.
Tottenham boss Harry Redknapp has insisted he has no plans of letting Keane leave the club.
“I wouldn’t accept an offer for Robbie Keane before the window shuts, not at the moment,” he said.
“We haven’t got anybody else. I couldn’t afford to let him go.”
