West Ham are closing in on the signing of Armando Broja from Chelsea, according to Fabrizio Romano.
Apparently, the talks between the two clubs are progressing well, with all that remains to be resolved is whether Chelsea would have the right of first refusal in case the Hammers decide to sell the forward on in the future, as well as the amount and structure of the proposed add-ons. An agreement on a permanent transfer is now close.
The 20-year-old, who plays for Albania at international level, is a product of the academy at Chelsea. With no place in their first team ranks for him due to fierce competition in the attacking line, he spent the last two seasons away on loan, first at Dutch side Vitesse Arnhem and then in the Premier League with Southampton. He’s only played once for Chelsea at senior level, four minutes in a 4-0 win over Everton in March, 2020, but he did score nine goals and produced one assist in 38 matches for the Saints last term.
