West Ham United really know how to surprise their fans. After the rumours that they will be going after Marouane Fellaini and Ross Barkley in this transfer window, as David Moyes is eager to cooperate with them once again, the Hammers have signed a midfielder after all, but it was neither of the two mentioned players. In fact, it is not a big name signing at all.
According to the Guardian, West Ham are closing in on the signing of Slavia Prague midfielder Tomas Soucek. He is 24 years old and is Czech Republic international and Sky Sports are also claiming that he is about to have his medical in London. Reportedly, Soucek is valued at 20 million euros by his current club and it looks like that might be the price West Ham will have to pay to get him.
Soucek, a tall central midfielder, has scored 12 goals this season, including those against Inter and Borussia Dortmund in the Champions League.
