West Ham United have denied reports that Ravel Morrison has gone on strike, according to Sky Sports.
The Hammers top scorer comes after they reported fellow Premier League strugglers Fulham to the Premier League for comments made by Rene Meulensteen after his sides 3-0 win over Norwich City in their FA Cup third round replay.
The Fulham coach, who worked with Morrison at Manchester United, had claimed that the Cottagers had had a bid rejected for the England U21 international.
A statement on West Ham’s official website this morning said that contrary to reports, the midfielder had not gone on strike, and was battling to return to fitness after recently suffering a groin injury.
He could return to first team action this weekend as Sam Allardyce’s men look to secure a second straight league victory as they host Newcastle United.
The East London club can be backed at a generous price of 2/1 to take all three points.
