Premier League high flyers West Ham United are showing interest in Real Madrid youngster Martin Odegaard, the Daily Mail can reveal.
The Hammers did well to sign Andre Ayew and Arthur Masuaku on Monday, and they hope to add the Norwegian midfielder to their ranks as well.
Hamburg and Bayer Leverkusen are also keen on the 17-year-old footballer, who is almost certain to leave Santiago Bernabeu on loan.
What is more, Real Madrid hope to complete the loan deal by the end of the week, since they expect their one-year transfer ban to be confirmed in the coming days.
And if Odegaard is loaned after said ban is upheld, Zinedine Zidane will not be able to recall him to the side in a year’s time.
The French coach has been satisfied with the youngster’s performances in pre-season, but he believes a year-long loan spell is the best option for everyone concerned.
