Portuguese media outlet A Bola has learned that West Ham have launched a fresh assault on Sporting Lisbon striker Islam Slimani.
With Andy Carroll, Diafra Sakho, Enner Valencia and Carlton Cole all currently vying for places in attack at Boleyn Ground, manager Sam Allardyce seems to have enough firepower at his disposal, but it appears he is, nonetheless, eager to lure long-term target Slimani to London.
According to A Bola, the Hammers representatives are set to arrive in Lisbon for a new round of talks with a view of agreeing a deal in the January transfer window.
At the moment, Sporting value their prized asset at €10 million, and it remains to be seen whether they can reach an agreement with the Premier League outfit.
Islam Slimani, 26, has continued the rich vein of form this season, netting 6 times in 10 league outings. The Algerian had joined the Lions from Belouizdad last summer and bagged 8 league goals in his first season at the club.
