According to a recent report from Sky Sports News, West Ham United have increased their bid for Barcelona midfielder Andre Gomes. They had initially put forward a bid of around £18 million which was turned down by the Spanish champions, and now, they’ve put it up to £20 million. It doesn’t seem as if they’re going to have much more luck, though, as they are said to be demanding a fee of around £25m – £35m. Gomes had an impressive spell on loan at Everton last season which has led to the increased interest in him, with a series of top clubs looking into the possibility of a bid. West Ham have made Gomes one of their primary summer targets, but even with that being the case, Everton are still the favourites to land him on a permanent basis. Gomes joined Barca from Valencia back in July 2016, and has two years remaining on his current contract at the Nou Camp.
