West Ham United are interested in signing Nathan Ake from Manchester City in the January transfer window, according to Eurosport. It has been reported that Newcastle’s owners, Saudi Arabia’s Public Investment Fund (PIF) want to reunite Ake with his former Bournemouth manager Eddie Howe at St. James’ Park.
Ake is struggling for playing time at West Ham, and the Netherlands international central defender himself is open to a move to West Ham in the January transfer window. David Moyes’s side are looking for a new central defender due to the long-term injury to Kurt Zouma.
The City no. 6 has made four starts and two substitute appearances in the Premier League so far this season, scoring one goal in the process. Ake has scored one goal in three Champions League games for Pep Guardiola’s side so far this campaign.
