Premier League outfit West Ham are weighing up summer move for Niort defender Kevin Malcuit, according to Radio Monte Carlo.
The 24-year-old was believed to be on the verge of joining Saint Etienne, but les Verts are now facing stiff competition for his signature.
While Nice and Bordeaux are also in the chase, it is West Ham that have emerged as the favourites to land the talented footballer.
The Hammers are not exactly spoilt for choices at full-back positions and they aim to lure Malcuit to Boleyn Ground before the summer transfer window comes to an end.
After coming through the youth ranks at Monaco, the right-sided defender, who can also operate on the left hand side, left the club for Frejus Saint-Raphael after making just three league outings for the Principality club.
Malcuit then joined Niort in January 2014 and he appears to have done enough to finally secure a return to top flight football.
