Premier League high-flyers West Ham are considering a January bid for Marseille stopper Nicolas N’Koulou, the Daily Mail has suggested.
The Hammers look set to stay without important defender Winston Reid, whose contract is due to expire at the end of the season, with the New Zealand hotshot unlikely to extend at Boleyn Ground.
And West Ham manager Sam Allardyce seems to believe that N’Koulou would be an excellent long-term replacement for Reid.
The Hammers have watched the Cameroon star on several occasions this season and they might come forward with an official proposal in the winter.
Marseille are not too keen on selling their prized asset, but with his contract running until June 2016, they will be forced to consider any serious offer.
Nicolas N’Koulou has been regarded one of Ligue 1’s top defenders for quite a while now, and it is believed he is looking for a new challenge.
