West Ham keen to keep hold of Oxford

West Ham United have no intention of parting company with Reece Oxford, according to the Times.

The highly rated teenager broke into the Hammers’ first team last season and his performances has alerted a number of his sides’ rivals to his potential.

Manchester United, Arsenal and Liverpool have all been linked with a move to secure the seventeen year old’s services, but the East London club will not let him leave without a fight.

Oxford plays as a defender but can also operate as a defensive midfielder, which could potentially increase any asking price.

In total, he made twelve appearances for Slaven Bilic’s side last season while internationally he has represented England at every level from U16s to U19s.

He is yet to receive senior recognition, though a move to one of the division’s elite is sure to enhance his chances of a call-up.
