Sky Sports seems to have proved that West Ham United did make an official proposal for Sporting CP midfielder William Carvalho.
The Hammers were unable to complete the signing on transfer deadline day, before the Lions communications director Nuno Saraiva accused the Hammers of lying about making a bid.
Nevertheless, Sky Sports has presented screenshots of emails West Ham co-chairman David Sullivan sent to the Portuguese club which clearly suggest an offer was made.

The Hammers offered €25 million plus 10% sell-on fee and other bonuses, and demanded a swift response as they were also looking at a PSG player, believed to be Grzegorz Krychowiak.
Sporting CP reportedly attempted to resurrect the deal on transfer deadline day, but there was not enough time for the transfer to be wrapped up.
