According to a recent report from Sky Italy, Premier League side West Ham United have put forward a bid to try and sign Juventus forward Gonzalo Higuain on a season-long loan. The belief is that there would also be an option included for them to eventually buy the Argentine striker, with his value being placed at £36 million. Following the many departures of forwards such as Perez, Carroll, Arnautovic and probably Hernandez from the Hammers this summer, they’re in desperate need of a goalscoring centre-forward once more. While his spell with Chelsea may not have gone exactly to plan, it certainly seems like it was enough to convince West Ham that Higuain is still capable of doing some big things in the top flight.
Given the stature of Higuain as a player, this certainly indicates that West Ham are aiming high when it comes to some of their desired signings during the transfer window.
