Premier League side West Ham are said to be closing in on a loan move for Inter Milan midfielder Joao Mario.
Italian news outlet Gazzetta dello Sport reports that the two clubs have been engaged in intense negotiations over the past few weeks and that a deal is highly likely to happen until the end of the January transfer window.
The Portuguese international now looks set for a €1.1 million loan to the London-based club who have agreed to cover his entire weekly wages.
The 25-year-old Joao Mario himself was initially reluctant to move to West Ham but he now seems prepared to change clubs and attempt to kick-start his career following an unsuccessful spell in Italy.
West Ham are currently trying to secure an option to make the deal permanent in the summer but Gazzetta dello Sport claims that Inter Milan are not particularly keen on such a possibility.
