Carlton Cole has re-joined West Ham United on a three-month contract, according to the Mail Online.
The England international has been improving his fitness over the last few months in order to earn a deal with the club who released him at the end of last season following a seven year spell in East London.
The former Chelsea striker scored fifty-nine goals in two-hundred and thirty-seven appearances for the Hammers, and was part of the side that won promotion back to the Premier League in 2012.
Having not found a new club during the summer, he was offered a short term deal by Sam Allardyce, who has been keen to strengthen his attacking options with record signing Andy Carroll struggling to return to fitness.
Cole, who has also played for Charlton Athletic, Aston Villa and Wolverhampton Wanderers, could make his second debut for West Ham on Saturday, when they host Manchester City.
