West Ham signings enough to please the fans?

It was announced yesterday that West Ham have signed two players on loan for twelve months. The announcement had been delayed due to various administrative problems.

West Ham fans, already no doubt thrilled by the purchases of Valon Behrami and Jan Lastuvka, now have the equally exciting news that thirty-two year old Italian striker David di Michele and twenty-six year old Demoratic Republic of Congo left-back Herita Ilunga are both on their way to the club.

The two loan deals are not absolutely certain yet as both of the moves are subject to registration by the Premier League.

Prior to Saturday’s win over Blackburn the West Ham fans were becoming increasingly agitated and frustrated with manager Alan Curbishley. Now, it is my lack of football knowledge that explains why I have never heard of any of these players I’m sure, but I’m not totally convinced that these four arrivals will appease the West Ham fans.

And the point of this ‘article’ is…? If, as you openly admit, you don’t know your subject, please indulge in some ‘auto-editing’ before you bang out such time-wasting trash. For your information, all four players have played at international level and indeed address some of the shortcomings in the West Ham squad. It’s not about appeasement, it’s about achievement. Let’s see what these boys can do.

We still have Appiah to come as well, fingers crossed. I am hoping that they will more than fill the gaps that have been left and I see no reason why they can’t. Di Michele is a proven goalscore and very creative, Llunga is quick and seems solid enough, far better than having Neill at left back, Behrami is still finding his feet but i thought he had a good game against Blackburn and if Appiah joins and remains fit then we have a real powerhouse in the middle of the park. There are always a lot of risks with new signings but I am positive that these can help us improve on last season.
