West Ham snap up Benfica teenager Mesaque Dju

Premier League outfit West Ham are set to sign the 19-year-old Benfica talent Mesaque Dju, Sky Sports has reported.

The talented winger is the product of Benfica’s academy who represented Portugal at all youth levels, having been most recently included in his country’s U20s side. Dju was part of the Portugal team that won the European Under-19 Championship in 2018 and the U17 Euros two years prior.

Mesaque Dju is arriving in London as a free agent after his deal with the Portuguese heavyweights expired and is set to put pen to paper on his contract with the Hammers on Wednesday after completing his medicals.

The youngster is widely expected to link up with the West Ham’s under-23 side and work his way up to the senior squad.

West Ham have been dormant during the winter transfer window but could make a late attempt to sign Sheffield United’s midfielder John Fleck before the window closes.
