According to a recent report from Sky Sports News, Premier League side West Ham United are still working hard in order to try and convince Maxi Gomez to join the Hammers from Celta Vigo. At this moment in time Maxi is in favour of the idea of staying in Spain to go to Valencia, where he will be playing Champions League football. A source has claimed that West Ham are willing to trigger his release clause which is believed to be worth around £40 million, but the club are now putting it up to £45 million in regards to their own personal demand. Personal terms don’t seem as if they’re going to be a problem, but it all depends on whether or not Gomez comes around to the idea of making the move to England. If he does, then one of the biggest issues will almost certainly be the lack of European football.
