West Ham will evaluate the impact of Manchester United loanee Jesse Lingard over the second half of the season and if they’re satisfied, they’ll sit down with him to see if he’s interested in making the switch permanent, manager David Moyes has revealed.
Lingard scored twice on his debut for the Hammers as they beat Aston Villa 1-3 at Villa Park. As Moyes says, it was only one game and while the club take a good look at the player, the player will also get a good look at the club and see if he likes playing at the London Stadium.
Moyes also says the 28-year-old has matured a lot since their brief spell together at Old Trafford and is about to enter his prime, and if his great start at the club develops into fine performances on a consistent basis, he would be sure to get a spot in the England squad fur the upcoming Euros.
Lingard will be entering the final 12 months of his contract with United in the summer, and that could make the deal easier to agree. United would probably be happy to get any kind of fee for a player they basically don’t need.
