(GSM) – West Ham United co-owner David Gold says he wants manager Avram Grant to remain at the club for years to come.

West Ham appointed the Israeli manager in the summer following the dismissal of Gianfranco Zola following a disappointing campaign in which the Hammers narrowly avoided relegation.

However, after months of Grant’s appointment, the team still finds itself in the bottom of the Premier League table.

But Gold has backed the former Chelsea manager to remain at the club for a long time.

“I’d be devastated if Avram Grant is not with us for three, four, five, six years,” Gold told Sky Sports News.

Asked whether Grant would stay in charge if the club is relegated from the Premier League, Gold replied: “We will remain absolutely resolute behind our manager.”
