West Ham are preparing to open talks with Jarrod Bowen over the possibility of the winger signing a new contract, according to the Evening Standard.
Interestingly enough, Bowen’s contract with the Hammers has three and a half years left to run, which has them in a strong position for any potential transfer negotiations this summer, but being aware of top-club interest in his services, the club are keen to improve his personal terms and reward his increasing contribution to their successes this season.
The 25-year-old has 18 goal contributions (eight goals and 10 assists) in 25 Premier League appearances this season, which makes him second only to Liverpool star Mohamed Salah in the English top flight. Liverpool are reportedly aware of Bowen’s quality and have him high on their list of potential targets for the summer, despite signing Luis Diaz from FC Porto in January.
Bowen prefers to play on the right, which would make him a decent alternative to Salah, though he knows how to cause defences harm from the left or through the middle as well.
