West Ham United host Sunderland at the Olympic Stadium in the Premier League on Saturday afternoon, in a game that is sure to be tight given how much is at stake for the two underperforming clubs.
However, United could well edge victory with their superior recent form, confining Sunderland to their seventh defeat of the season already.
Hosts West Ham find themselves 15th in the Premier League table with seven points from eight games, but have turned things around of late with a win and a draw from their last two outings. They have stopped the rot on home soil, and have some momentum going into their clash with a struggling Sunderland side.
As for the Black Cats, visitors Sunderland are rock bottom in the division with just two points from a possible 24, having lost four of their last five. David Moyes’ men have picked up one point from four away games, and are likely to come unstuck this weekend as a result.
