West Bromwich Albion have rejected an approach from West Ham United for defender Craig Dawson, according to the Telegraph.
The twenty-eight-year-old is being eyed by a whole host of top flight clubs with the Baggies holding out for a fee of around £20m – £8m more than the fee stumped up by the Hammers while Burnley have also failed with bids of their own.
Dawson moved to the Hawthorns from Rochdale in the summer of 2011 and has since racked up one hundred and eighty appearances in all competitions, scoring twelve goals.
He was even more prolific for the Dale netting eleven goals in each of his two seasons with the club while he scored four goals in sixteen games during a loan spell with Bolton Wanderers during the 2012/13 campaign.
Internationally he won fifteen caps for England’s U21s and was also part of the Team GB squad for the 2012 Summer Olympic Games.
