West Ham United are interested in signing Emerson Palmieri from Premier League rivals Chelsea in the summer transfer window, according to talkSPORT. It has been reported that West Ham manager David Moyes wants to sign a new left-back this summer, and have identified the 26-year-old Italy international as a potential transfer target.
Emerson has been on the books of Chelsea since January 2018 when he joined from Italian club AS Roma. According to WhoScored, the 26-year-old made 13 starts and two substitute appearances in the Premier League and played 198 minutes in the Champions League for the Blues last season.
During the 2018-19 campaign, the Italy international left-back made seven starts and three substitute appearances in the league, and played 11 times in the Europa League, according to WhoScored. Chelsea have signed Ben Chilwell from Leicester City in the summer transfer window, and the England international will be the first-choice left-back in Frank Lampard’s team this season.
