West Ham United are interested in signing Etienne Green from Saint-Etienne in the summer of 2022, according to TEAMtalk. It has been reported that West Ham are among a number of clubs monitoring the situation of the England Under-21 international goalkeeper. London and Premier League rivals Tottenham are also keen.
Green has just signed a new contract with Ligue 1 club Saint-Etienne and is in line to make his debut for the senior England squad. The 21-year-old stands at 6ft 4in and has huge potential.
Łukasz Fabiański has been the first-choice goalkeeper at West Ham for a number of years now. The Hammers signed Alphonse Areola on loan from Paris Saint-Germain in the summer of 2021. If West Ham do not make Areola’s loan deal permanent, then it would make sense for the London club to bring in Green in the summer of 2022.
