West Ham United are interested in signing Kalvin Phillips from Premier League rivals Leeds United in the summer transfer window, according to The Times. The report has claimed that West Ham made bids to sign Phillips in the January transfer window and remain keen on bringing him to London Stadium at the end of the season.
Leeds do not want to lose Phillips at the end of the season and are ready to offer him a new contract. The 26-year-old England international midfielder has been on the books of the West Yorkshire outfit his entire professional football career so far and is also a fan of the club.
Phillips has had injury problems this season and has made 12 appearances in the Premier League so far this campaign, providing one assist in the process. Leeds are 16th in the Premier League table at the moment with 29 points from 30 matches, as many as seven points above third-from-bottom Watford, who have played 29 games.
