West Ham United are interested in signing Nayef Aguerd from Rennes in the summer transfer window, according to The Telegraph. The report has claimed that West Ham wanted to sign the central defender in the summer of 2021 and will make an attempt to secure his services again at the end of the season.
Hammers manager David Moyes was keen on bringing Aguerd to London Stadium at the start of the season, but a deal could not be sorted, and the defender eventually signed a new deal with Rennes. However, West Ham have now revived their interest in the 26-year-old, who is valued at £20 million.
Aguerd has made 29 appearances in Ligue 1 for Rennes this season, scoring two goals and providing two assists in the process. Rennes are fourth in the league table at the moment with 62 points from 35 matches, three points behind third-placed AS Monaco, who have played 36 games.
