West Ham United are interested in signing Vangelis Pavlidis from Benfica in the January transfer window, according to Football Insider. However, Benfica will want big money for the striker, and West Ham will find it tough in negotiations to get a deal done.
Pavlidis has been on the books of Benfica since the summer of 2024 when he joined from AZ. The Greece international striker has scored two goals and given one assist in seven Liga Portugal matches and has played twice in the UEFA Champions League so far this campaign.
West Ham are 12th in the Premier League table at the moment with eight points from seven matches. The Hammers are five points above the relegation zone and need to get positive results fast. As for Benfica, they currently find themselves third in the Portuguese Primeira Liga table with 16 points from seven games, eight points behind leaders Sporting Lisbon.
